The book of Risala Al-Madat (Dar Al-Ghouthani)
Introduction to the phonetic study of the Arabs - a study in extending the message of Madat. This book was written by Imam Abu Bakr Ahmad bin Al-Hussein bin Mahran. It is one of the oldest books that have reached our hands, as it mentions cases of lengthening names and timing. Ibn Mihran numbered ten cases of lengthening names. He mentioned them all together, then separated them, explaining the reason for calling them that. They are: Al-Hijz, Al-Adl, Al-Tamkeen, Basat, Al-Rum (one-third of the vowel), Al-Farq, and Al. - The structure, the exaggeration (exaggeration), the change from the hamza (instead of the hamza), and the original (origin). Therefore, this study is considered one of the oldest studies that have reached us in measuring cases of lengthening the Alif as a unit of measurement of lengthening cases.
